In an effort to help those affected around the world by the current COVID-19 pandemic, MAC VIVA GLAM fund is donating $10 million (USD), to over 250 local organizations around the world to help support vulnerable communities affected by this virus. Miley Cyrus, a past VIVA GLAM spokesperson will be announcing MAC’s COVID-19 relief efforts.  Kicking off the 2020 VIVA GLAM Campaign on her Bright Minded series that she created to connect people in isolation during the virus outbreak.
The additional support provided by MAC current partners will help provide services such as food delivery, medication support, testing and treating diagonised COVID-19 cases in vulnerable communities especially among the immuno-compromised.
MAC VIVA GLAM was created 26 years ago as a hardship fund for people in need and since 1994 the sales of MAC’s VIVA GLAM has been making a huge difference in the lives of those affected by HIV/AIDS. 100 percent of the sales from it’s VIVA GLAM Lipsticks are dedicated to supporting vulnerable communities. “To leverage this 100-percent giving model to help people affected by COVID-19 is a continuation of the principles VIVA GLAM was founded on from its inception,”  John Demsey, chairman of the MAC Viva Glam Fund and executive group president of The Estée Lauder Companies, said in the statement.

How did you come to work on Messiah?
Stewart Lyons, my Line Producer from Breaking Bad recommended me to David Nicksay the Line Producer of Messiah and he contacted me while I was shooting

We may assume that there is a universal understanding about what integrity means, yet often we are shocked to find that people behave with conscious-less actions and justify their lack of responsibility for their actions. I believe that a person who acts and speaks with integrity will face the same direction as their moral compass.

When Michael asked me to answer the question what does integrity mean to me, I thought how appropriate as I had decided this year to have the courage to speak out. On January 10 in Hollywood, the team at pro makeup artist favorite, Skindinavia, once again kicked off the biggest weekend in makeup artistry with their Skindinavia Celebrates Pro LA event! The party, which annually falls on the eve of the Make Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Awards (MUAHS) hosted more than 150 of the industry’s most talented makeup artist, hairstylists and industry insiders for what has become the pre-party of the year.

The community of IATSE Local 706, celebrated the best in the industry in an evening filled with community and craft this week at the 7th annual Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild (MUAHS) Awards! Winners were announced in 23 categories of film, television, commercials and live theater, during a formal gala at the NOVO by Microsoft at L.A. Live Downtown on Saturday night, January 11, 2020.

For the first time ever, the pro makeup education leader, The Powder Group, has been invited to curate the makeup artistry program at the International Salon + Spa Expo (ISSE) Long Beach, January 25-27, 2020. The roster for our The Powder Group x ISSE makeup program touches a broad range of areas of makeup artistry and experience levels and the entire seminar program is accessible only to attendees of ISSE.

How did you come to work on Fresh Off The Boat? 
I was lucky to have worked with the Production Manager, Jennifer Anderson on Pretty Little Liars, as well as other projects throughout the years and when she was looking for a Department Head Makeup she thought of me.

The show revolves around a family who is acclimating to a new experience in a new country. How did the social or cultural considerations that would go along with this concept come into play in your makeup design?  
The only difference I would say is the shape of the Asian eye, and you apply eyeshadow differently to compliment that shape and accent with lots of lashes.

Were there any specific inspirations for any of the characters' looks?  
The show is based in Orlando Florida, during the ’90s, so it is a period show. Back in the '90s, tans were a big thing, defined groomed eyebrows, body shimmer, lined lips, as well as a Smokey eye.

Can you tell us about the looks for Constance Wu's character; Jessica Huang? 
Constance Wu plays a housewife, who has written a book and is involved in her kid’s school. Her characters look is very put together. I give her character a smokey eye using the Anastasia Soft Glam palette, with DIOR Brow Styler to give her that perfect brow, and Urban Decay Corrupt eyeliner pencil to accent the Continue reading


How did you come to work on Charlie’s Angels?
I have worked with Elizabeth Banks for quite some time; often on smaller films as well as the first film Elizabeth directed which was Pitch Perfect 2 and again on Pitch Perfect 3. In total, we have collaborated seven times. She asked me to be a part of Charlie’s Angels and I was excited by the modern twist she put on this script and the fact that she wrote it, was directing it as well as starring in it. I was excited to be a part of this film and I liked the concept in the story and that it shines a light on the hero in all of us. It was important for me to put time aside to work on this film as I believe in unification and sisterhood is a great thing. If I was able to put my artistic spin on a project like this, I was ready to do it. 

How much time was put into pre-production?
I think we were prepping 6 weeks out. We were working on tear sheets and meetings and there was so much to collaborate on. We hired an international crew, which meant finding people with the right work ethic and everything that would work well for us. It meant finding a crew that was up for the challenges for traveling to multiple locations such as Germany and Istanbul. All of this needed synchronicity under incredibly demanding situations and I think we walked away with a feeling of unification of artistry. It was incredibly rewarding. We all learned so much from each other and I truly don’t think the learning ever stops.  Continue reading
