The Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild (MUAHS, IATSE Local 706) has announced nominations for the 9th Annual MUAHS Guild Awards! The MUAHS Awards represent a spectrum of outstanding achievements in makeup and hair styling artistry in motion pictures, television, commercials, and live theater. Winners will be honored at the MUAHS gala, returning to a live-in-person ceremony at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Saturday, February 19, 2022. At the live event, Emmy and Oscar award winning makeup artist Michele Burke – best known for her work on the Mission Impossible and Austin Powers series, and Joy Zapata, Emmy winning hair stylist known for her work on A Star is Born, Wonder Woman 1984, and Star Trek: Nemesis, will receive the 2022 MUAHS Lifetime Achievement Awards for makeup and hairstyling respectively. The Vanguard Award will be presented to makeup artist Christina Smith for her more than 40 years of iconic work in the industry.
