How did you come to work on This Is Us?
A close friend, Tania McComas, had worked with John Requa and Glenn Ficarra, two of our producers/directors. She wasn’t available to do the pilot so she recommended me. To say I owe her one is an understatement.

Whose makeup do you do for the production?
Mandy Moore, Milo Ventimiglia, Chrissy Metz, Ron Cephas Jones. Heather Plott, my assistant department head, and I both share (fight over!) Justin Hartley, Sterling K. Brown, Chris Sullivan and our gaggle of kids and teenagers. It’s a busy show so sometimes we have to share to keep things flowing.

What about aging the male characters like John Huerta and Milo Ventimiglia?
John and Milo both have subtle aging during the ‘90s either enhancing with tattoo colors what they have or adding ager. For John’s old age makeup, the approach is very much like >> Pick up the Spring 2017 issue for the complete interview with Zoe Hay
