How did you come to work on this project?
I had worked with the producer, Rose Lam, on a show called Proof. I had to leave a few weeks early to do X-Men: Apocalypse in Montreal. When I got back, Rose called and
told me about her project — Lemony Snicket. I was very happy to hear from her and really excited for with her on it!
How much creative control did you have as makeup designer/head of department?
It level was very flexible. Once I had a character design, I presented it to director Barry Sonnenfeld. Then we either tested it or made changes. There was a lot of collaborating; this is a dream project for any creative department.
What about some of Count Olaf’s disguises?
