Hermès  Hermès delves into beauty. Their first collection is a beautiful and supple range of lipsticks, called Rouge Hermès, which are available in 24 shades of either matte or satin finishes. Each beautiful color is pulled from the Hermès library of silks and leather goods. The packaging is gorgeous as to be expected and was created by creative director of Hermès jewelry and shoes Pierre Hardy. The packaging is not only environmentally conscious but contain no plastics and are refillable. Rumor has it that color cosmetics and foundations will launch September 2020. $67.00 hermes.com

Sephora  Sephora has taken the 15 Percent Pledge to dedicate 15% of their shelf space to Black-owned businesses. The retailer will also create an advisory group that will include Aurora James, the creator of the 15 Percent Pledge, along with leaders of brands owned by persons of color, who will help implement these changes. “This commitment is about more than the prestige products on our shelves,” said Artemis Patrick, chief merchandising officer of Sephora. “It starts with a long-term plan diversifying our supply chain and building a system that creates a better platform for Black-owned brands to grow, while ensuring Black voices help shape our industry. The Pro Safety Group  Called to action by the Covid-19 pandemic, beauty business veterans Madeline Leonard of Cloutier Remix and Sumita Batra of Ziba Beauty have launched The Pro Safety Group. They are a one-stop, online resource providing the beauty and entertainment industries with safety education, resources and a personal protection equipment (PPE) marketplace. Offerings range from the most basic–masks, gloves and sanitizers–to UVC-powered disinfecting robots.
