INDUSTRY NEWS: 2020 EMMY AWARD MAKEUP & HAIRSTYLING WINNERS

While the 72nd Creative Arts Emmy Awards took place virtually this year, they were not going to let a pandemic stop them from honoring the best of what makes television so magical.  The awards were given out over four consecutive nights and with the final ceremony taking place Sunday, September 21st, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.  This year’s Makeup Artists and Hairstylist winners included Doniella Davy, Kirsten Sage Coleman and Tara Lang Shah for Euphoria. Campayno, Margot Boccia, Michael Laudati, Tomasina Smith, Roberto Baez, and Alberto Machuca for The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, James Robert Mackinnon, Vincent Van Dyke, Richard Redlefse, Neville Page, and Michael Ornelaz for Star Trek: Picard “Absolute Candor” and many more.

INDUSTRY NEWS: THE MAKEUP SHOW BEAUTY EXPERIENCE IS GOING VIRTUAL

The Makeup Show announced that it will host its first The Virtual Makeup Show, due to COVID-19.  The Virtual Show will be on September 13-14, 2020 from 10am – 6pm both days.

The Makeup Show has been creating a place in the beauty industry to learn, network, and explore for the past 10 years in a variety of cities and countries.

The two-day event will have over 25 pre-recorded educational sessions, 6 live presentations, and live demos with top brands, and artists in a virtual show experience.  The brands include The Powder Group, Danessa Myricks Beauty, Rebel and Outlaws, MYKITCOAlcone Company, B3 Beauty Balm, Crown Brush, Bdellium Tools, Glamcor, Melanie Mills Hollywood, TEMPTU Pro, Viseart, and many more.  The artists that will be presenting are James Vincent, Julia Dalton Brush, Danessa MyricksJames Molloy, Jon HennesseyLijha Stewart, Yvonne MacInnis, and more guests to be announced soon.

INDUSTRY NEWS: WORLD BODYPAINTING FESTIVAL 2020 WINNERS AND RECAP

This year the World Bodypainting Festival had to postpone the World Bodypainting Festival edition to 2021.  However, due to the overwhelming interest from the bodypainting community, they created the WBF 2020 COVID Edition.  The online competition took place from July 6th to July 10th, complete with sponsors, awards, and prizes.

The WBF 2020 COVID Crisis Edition was supported by Tourismusregion Klagenfurt am Worthersee, Kryolan Professional Makeup, Karnten – Its my life, FH Karnten – Carinthia University of Applied Sciences, Asia Colors, On Makeup Magazine, The Powder Group, Snazaroo, KT1 Privatfernsehen, and Base Formula.

At this special online competition, winners were selected in 6 categories, including 3 world awards.  613 incredible artists from 55 nations in 17 time zones around the world participated in the festival.  Continue reading
